[ The fact Hellboy can move at all seems miraculous to Jacob, his own body not able yet to do something as simple as balance. He does push himself up, trying to follow Hellboy as he moves away. He wants his heat, his presence, his body against him, but he doesn't get it.

So he thumps back down again, exposed and sticky, skin rapidly cooling down. It takes all the energy he can muster to push himself up again, and then sit upright on the table. ]

It wasn't... wrong. Just not what I was expecting.

[He pauses, and the silence seems to grow like an abyss]

It was better than I was expecting, but it... did change the mood a bit.
